                        Flying fox

Today I learned the difference between a bat and a flying fox.

A flying fox is a type of bat that does not use sonar only.

They use their eyes and ears and bats use their sonar and nose to find

food in the dark because they can't see in the dark.

Great job for learning and sharing what you have learned while working from home. I like that you have added photos of a flying fox and a bat. They are great images. Have you ever seen either of these in real life?

  2. Kia ora Caleb, I never knew this! Is sonar the same as echolocation? What prompted you to find out about Bats? Where did you find your information?

Thank you for teaching me something new about bats! I did not know that flying foxes were so different from bats! I enjoyed seeing the photographs you added, the flying foxes really do look a lot like actual foxes.
